Academician's series of activities on improving energy efficiency of motor system were successfully held in Qianshan Iron and Steel Company of Shougang and Cigu Valley of Jiangsu Province.

China has about 2.1 billion kilowatt motors, and its annual power consumption is about 3.4 trillion kilowatt-hours, accounting for 64% of the country's total social electricity consumption. Among them, the motor power consumption in the industrial field accounts for about 75% of the industrial electricity consumption. At present, the motor system is still the largest terminal energy equipment in China, and its operation efficiency lags behind the international advanced level by 10-20 percentage points. In order to vigorously improve the energy efficiency of the motor system, effectively reduce the energy consumption caused by the backwardness of the motor system, realize the cost reduction and efficiency increase of industrial enterprises, promote the green transformation and upgrading of industry, and accelerate the green development of industry, the China Industrial Energy Conservation and Cleaner Production Association, under the guidance of the Department of Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, officially launched the 'Energy Efficiency Promotion Institute for Motor Systems' from March 13 to 16, 2018. Shijin Enterprise Services series activities, through on-site diagnosis and Discussion on the application and research and development of motor systems in energy-using enterprises and manufacturing enterprises, provide comprehensive solutions and professional technical optimization suggestions for enterprises, realize the effective connection between technology service providers and technology users, technology R&D providers and technology converters, and gain the consensus of enterprises. From 13th to 14th, a team of academician experts composed of relevant leaders of the Department of Energy Conservation, academician Gu Guobiao of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Deputy Secretary-General of the Association's Wisdom and representatives of technical enterprises such as Jiangsu Yi Group Co., Ltd. visited Qian'an Iron and Steel Company of Beijing Shougang Co., Ltd. and the application site of energy-saving products such as intelligent motors promoted by Suyi Group in Shougang Qian'an'an Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. In this paper, a full range of on-site diagnosis is carried out for secondary dust removal in steelmaking, water supply operation area of Ministry of Energy and motor consumption in cold rolling production line, and the problems existing in the application of new energy-saving technologies, elimination motor treatment and permanent magnet motor are fully discussed and exchanged. From 15th to 16th, experts including Energy Conservation Department, Jiangsu Economic and Information Commission Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization Office, Zhenjiang Economic and Information Commission and Zhenjiang Science and Technology Bureau, Academician Tang Renyuan of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Deputy Director Liu Taiyong of Technical Marketing Department of Association, Associate Professor Han Xueyan of Electrical Engineering College of Shenyang University of Technology, and Zhejiang Yongfa Mechanical and Electrical Co., Ltd. The academician expert team composed of enterprise representatives went to Jiangsu Cigu Science and Technology Co., Ltd. and visited the research and Development Laboratory of permanent magnet drive technology. The field evaluation of motor speed control transmission system under simulated working conditions was carried out, and the technical problems such as winding permanent magnet drive products were discussed and exchanged in depth.
